Psychiatrist
Dr. Caleb “Cal” Koljack completed both his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Colorado. He trained in adult general psychiatry at Columbia University/New York State Psychiatric Institute and is now in his final year of child and adolescent psychiatry training at New York Presbyterian’s combined training program through Columbia and Cornell. Cal is a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who takes a holistic approach to the assessment and treatment of all individuals across the lifespan and is passionate about working with patients and families to best understand how to support and advocate for their needs. He recognizes the importance of integrating one’s background, identity, family system, school and work environment, important relationships, as well as their medical and developmental concerns into a treatment plan that is most aligned with that person’s goals. This often includes partnering and collaborating with families, teachers, and other professionals involved, and when appropriate, recommending additional supports such as individual/couples/family therapy, DBT skills groups or group therapy, neuropsychological evaluations, medical assessments, school assessments, or other supports to ensure you receive high-quality and comprehensive care.
Cal’s clinical expertise includes the treatment of anxiety, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, OCD, psychosis, behavioral issues related to or in the context of autism, as well as other issues related to major life events, losses/grief, or challenges in work-life or relationships. He has additional experience in working with transgender and nonbinary individuals and is deeply committed to working with all LGBTQ+ and BIPOC individuals with cultural humility. Cal has additional training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and interpersonal psychotherapy, which allows him to appropriately tailor recommendations and referrals for therapy to each person’s unique challenges and strengths.
