MARISA SCHWARTZ, MSN, BSN, RN-BC, PMHNP-BC

Marisa is an ANCC board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner who received both her Undergraduate Nursing and Master’s degrees from New York University. For more than a decade, Marisa has worked within major hospital systems in New York City providing care for those with complex medical, psychiatric, and psychosocial needs, first as a nurse and then as an advanced practice provider. She worked on the consultation-liaison psychiatry teams at The Mount Sinai Hospital and then at Weill Cornell Hospital providing care to hospitalist patients and working collaboratively with patients, families, and the various medical services involved in their care. While at The Mount Sinai Hospital, she was the co-leader of the Behavioral Health Team, a novel program within the department of consultation-liaison psychiatry that provided proactive psychiatric interventions and improved access to mental health treatment, which she remains passionate about. In addition, Marisa has been providing outpatient services for patients with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD and other various psychiatric and psychosocial conditions. Marisa has received significant psychopharmacological training and believes in developing a strong therapeutic alliance to effectively utilize psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapeutic techniques. Marisa is passionate about proactive psychiatric interventions, improving access to mental health treatment, and hopes to provide a safe, non-judgmental space for clients.
