ALEXANDRA SKINDER, LCSW

Clinician

Alexandra Skinder, LCSW enjoys working with children, adolescents, adults and families and prides herself on creating a warm and safe space for learning, growth and strong therapeutic relationships. Drawing from a variety of Evidence Based Practices, Alexandra collaborates with each of her clients to build an individualized approach, equipping her clients with strategies and skills to live their most meaningful and fulfilled lives.

Alexandra earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Child and Family Studies from Syracuse University, graduating summa cum laude. She earned her Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work from New York University and has a background in Mindfulness and Contemplative Studies.

Alexandra has experience working with individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, OCD, low self-esteem, trauma symptoms and poor attachment styles. She utilizes Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy and Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT).

It is Alexandra’s belief that small shifts can result in seismic changes. With increased awareness and balance, one can find a path towards acceptance and change. Sharing knowledge and compassion has become one of Alexandra’s life ambitions. She welcomes the privilege to work alongside her clients to discover their greatest potential.
